This is the 11867 AN XXII Twenty Lire struck during the times of Pope Pius IX by the mint in Rome Italy. The coin depicts the image of the bust of pope Pius IX facing left on the obverse with the legend PIVS IX. The reverse shows the denomination and date within a wreath and has the legend STATO. There is also the mint mark "R" in the bottom of the reverse.The coin weighs 6.45 grams of 0.900 gold and measures 21.5 mm in diameter. This is the rather scarce coin.
